The goal of this program is to improve management of chronic pain in older adults and management of amyloidosis. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to: 1. Apply the World Health Organization recommendations for analgesia. 2. Identify risk factors associated with prescription opioid misuse. 3. Optimize selection of opiate-based medications for man agement of chronic pain in older adults. 4. Order appropriate testing to diagnose patients suspected to have cardiac amyloidosis. 5. Prescribe drugs approved for treatment of transthyretin amyloid cardiomyopathy.
