The goal of this program is to improve patient counseling about updates to health policy that increase the affordability of health care and prescribing of incretin-based therapy in patients with type 2 diabetes. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to: 1. Explain the effects of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) on patient costs. 2. Assess the implications of reinstatement of state licensure rules following the end of the COVID-19 pandemic. 3. Consider adding medical treatment of opioid use disorder to one s scope of practice. 4. Compare the advantages of different incretin-based therapies. 5. Appropriately select patients for incretin-based therapies.
