IC 107-2024: The Changing Paradigm of Posterior Shoulder Instability: From Simple Repair to Arthroscopic Bone Block

Much has been learned regarding posterior shoulder instability over the recent years, including its unique differences and the fact that posterior instability may be more common than anterior instability. Further knowledge regarding posterior instability’s different injury pattern, symptoms, clinical presentation, bone loss patterns, and surgical treatment and outcomes have expanded exponentially. Despite this, many patients still are not appropriately diagnosed and treated. This course provides an overview of these unique issues in this cohort and how operative treatments should be approached, including surgical pearls with a case-based discussion. This panel of experts with extensive experience in treating professional athletes to weekend warriors will provide insights into the latest understanding of pathologies and treatments patients with posterior shoulder instability.
