Veterinarian Echo Mini-Series: Comparative Echo in Human & Nonhuman Primates

Veterinarian Echo Mini-Series is a new collection of modules that provide learners with access to various echo topics where speakers discuss the similarities and differences in human and nonhumans. Modules include a combination of lectures, animated videos, questions and case discussions. Module 1: Comparative Echo in Human & Nonhuman Primates Echocardiographic methods share several similarities and differences when applied to human and nonhuman primates. In this presentation, panelists will share their expertise and experience with development of a novel protocol for performing complete echocardiograms, including strain imaging, on unsedated orangutans; the history and development of the Great Ape Heart Project; and comparative echocardiography of anesthetized nonhuman primates.
