Pediatric Musculoskeletal Ultrasound: Infant Hip and Other Applications

Pediatric Musculoskeletal Ultrasound: Infant Hip and Other Applications

Infant hip ultrasound has been established as a highly sensitive and specific imaging modality when accurately performed by properly trained examiners. This course will teach the diagnostic medical sonographer, radiologist, and orthopedic surgeon the essential elements of the hip examination technique and the role of hip sonography in the diagnosis and management of developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH). This course includes approximately five hours of clinical scanning. Under the supervision of experienced faculty, participants will have the opportunity for hands-on experience performing infant hip and spine studies in our orthopedic clinic. Other musculoskeletal applications, including the infant spine, will be discussed.
