1. Locate nerves with ultrasound in the neck, arms, torso, and legs 2. Differentiate nerves from surrounding structures such as tendons and muscles 3. Approach nerves with in-plane and out-of-plane techniques 4. Master the US-guided nerve block 5. Identify patient populations that will benefit most from US-guided nerve blocks 6. Choose the appropriate nerve to anesthetize for particular injury patterns 7. Correctly position patients for each type of block to enhance success 8. Avoid conscious/deep sedation with well executed US-guided nerve blocks 9. Counsel patients as to the duration of expected pain relief with various anesthetics 10. Develop a hospital protocol for the delivery of US-guided anesthesia
