The goal of this program is to improve pharmacologic management of patients with hypertension, skin disorders, and gastroesophageal reflux disease. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to: 1. Optimize treatment of hypertension based on patient age, ethnicity, and risk factors. 2. Prescribe a multiple-antihypertensive regimen for patients with persistent high blood pressure. 3. Counsel patients with hypertension about medications and herbal supplements that may increase blood pressure. 4. Avoid tolerance induction and tachyphylaxis in patients using topical steroids. 5. Plan an appropriate course of treatment for patients with chronic gastroesophageal reflux disease.
