Drug Enter/Edit: Module 1 - Entering a New Drug into the Local Drug File

The purpose of this module is to inform, educate and provide training on the proper entry and maintenance of a drug into the drug file database, ensuring that medications are therefore ordered and delivered in a safe and efficient manner by VA Pharmacy Staff. VA staff needs to ensure that drug file upkeep is completed accurately and swiftly due to the continuous changes to medications and other pharmaceuticals released nationally. Drug files are part of an extremely complicated database and are an integral part of medication orders and the management of medications and supplies within VA facilities. This knowledge-based module will give VA staff the tools to correctly enter a new drug into the database and to update those currently in the databases ensuring medication safety to our Veteran patients.
