The goal of this program is to improve management of issues common to adults with intellectual disabilities (ID), and management of cardiomyopathy (CM) with genetic screening. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to: 1. Refer to guidelines for assessment of adults with ID. 2. Relate decision making abilities of adults with ID to the need for support or guardianship. 3. Recognize genetic origins of hypertrophic CM. 4. Identify patients who are indicated for genetic testing for CM. 5. Select patients for insertion of implantable cardioverter defibrillators.
