This presentation will discuss identifying and treating filamentous and pain-related injuries that are amendable to prolotherapy. This will include the medications used, delivery, and follow-up surrounding this procedure. Additionally, there will be recommendations for when to utilize this therapy, education on further educational opportunities, and when physicians should refer patients to a higher level of care. Learning Objectives: Underline the histological differences between prolotherapy, scarring, and steroid therapy. Analyze the need for implementing prolotherapy in the pain patient. Differentiate between disease processes that are and are not amendable to prolotherapy. Demonstrate a model for prolotherapy’s implementation and therapeutic procedure. Identify when a specialist referral is needed.
