The goal of this program is to improve management of liver injury in patients with cirrhosis, utilization of tourniquets and vascular shunting, and diagnosis and management of appendicitis in children. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to: 1. Repair hepatic injury in patients with cirrhosis. 2. Consider the evidence supporting use of tourniquets and vascular shunting for the management of trauma. 3. Identify common imaging findings associated with various presentations of appendicitis in pediatric patients. 4. Weigh the benefits vs risks of surgical and nonoperative management of appendicitis in pediatric patients. 5. Manage appendicitis in pediatric patients who are immunocompromised.
