Level V of Heart Failure – Comprehensive 2.0 dives into specific stabilization and management strategies to alleviate symptoms and reduce morbidity and mortality in acute heart failure. We address life-threatening conditions and other acute conditions resulting in acute decompensation and presentation to the emergency department. Guideline-directed medical therapy (GDMT) and nonpharmacological interventions to optimize heart failure outcomes are reviewed. We conclude with key strategies to help the healthcare team assess risk and clinical trajectory to guide ongoing management, disposition, and care coordination.
