This session will debate the pros and cons of the merits of encouraging pediatric ICU (PICU) clinicians to offer and personally facilitate end-of-life care for children at home versus only in the hospital. PICU physicians are uniquely trained in end-of-life care and often are the facilitators of withdrawal of support and limitations of care. Pediatric palliative care and hospice physicians are also in a position to facilitate home hospice care and withdrawal of support. This pro/con session will specifically ask, Where should children be allowed to die?
