Introduction to Artificial Intelligence provides a brief introduction to big data, artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning (ML). It focuses on important vocabulary and the current uses, strengths, and limitations of AI and ML in health care. In addition, the module describes the process of developing a ML model intended for use in health care. Learners will come away with important considerations of using AI and ML in health care which will be expanded upon in the rest of the Artificial Intelligence Learning Series.
Artificial Intelligence Learning Series will introduce learners to key concepts related to artificial intelligence and machine learning in health care. Throughout the series, learners grasp the strengths and limitations of AI/ML. In addition, they will acquire the vocabulary necessary to effectively interact with other stakeholders involved in AI/ML in health care. Finally, learners will become comfortable reading literature that includes information about AI/ML. It is anticipated that this learning series will serve as an introduction to learners with additional educational programming being set by individual medical schools, residency, and fellowship programs.
