2024 SCCM Congress - Joint SCCM-ESPNIC Session: Because You Can Does Not Mean You Should: How Far Can One Go in Liver ICU?

2024 SCCM Congress - Joint SCCM-ESPNIC Session: Because You Can Does Not Mean You Should: How Far Can One Go in Liver ICU?

Advances in the management of liver failure in children include advanced diagnostics and improved understanding of the pathophysiology of multiorgan failure in children with improved outcomes, both with and without transplant. However, there still remains a subset of patients for whom liver transplant might be contraindicated or interventions such as extracorporeal membrane oxygenation might not be indicated.
