Orf viral infection, also known as ecthyma contagiosum or contagious pustular dermatitis, is an occupational disease primarily acquired from infected sheep and goats. Transmission of orf disease often occurs when an individual with skin trauma comes into contact with infected animals, particularly those involved in occupational settings. Orf disease is generally self-limiting and does not necessitate specific treatment. However, early diagnosis is crucial to prevent worsening and further transmission, ultimately preserving productivity and reducing associated morbidity. This activity is designed to enhance healthcare professionals’ skills and the interprofessional team’s collaboration in delivering effective care to patients affected by orf viral infection. This course improves clinician competence when recognizing early symptoms, selecting evaluation and management approaches, and incorporating preventive measures for this condition to improve patient outcomes in this infectious occupational disease.
