Jervell and Lange Nielsen syndrome is a rare autosomal recessive disorder characterized by bilateral sensorineural hearing loss and a prolonged QTc interval of greater than 500 milliseconds leading to Torsades de pointes and sudden cardiac death. This condition is a form of inherited long QT syndrome. This activity reviews the evaluation and management of Jervell and Lange Nielsen Syndrome and highlights the role of the interprofessional team in educating patients about their prognosis.
