Acute Cystitis

Acute Cystitis

Urinary tract infections are the most common bacterial infection in women and result in roughly eight million emergency department or clinic visits and one hundred thousand hospital admissions per year. This results in $1.6 billion in healthcare dollars annually. Within a year of infection, 27 to 46% of women will have another UTI. This activity reviews the evaluation and management of urinary tract infections and highlights the role of the interprofessional team in caring for patients with urinary tract infections.
