The goal of this program is to improve management of common issues in the emergency department, and management of cardiac arrest. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Use D-dimer levels to calculate risk for pulmonary embolism.
2. Select medications for patients with epilepsy with benzodiazepine-refractory status.
3. Differentiate cardiac syncope from noncardiac syncope.
4. Advise against the use of intravenous or intraosseous calcium in patients with cardiac arrest.
5. Choose drugs to co-administer with epinephrine in patients with cardiac arrest.
