The goals of this program are to improve the diagnosis and management of delirium and nutritional deficiencies following bariatric surgery, and to recognize the harmfulness of weight stigma. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Detect signs and symptoms of delirium using appropriate screening tools.
2. Elaborate on the pathophysiology, diagnosis, and management of delirium in older adults.
3. Recognize the association between malnutrition and obesity.
4. Implement interventions for managing malnutrition following bariatric surgery.
5. Evaluate the negative effects of weight bias and weight stigma.
