This course provides history of Plantation Theory, awareness of power-dominant linguistic, and their impact on diverse employee leadership development. Original content from John Graham s October 4, 2023, Cost of the Climb session and new content focusing on demystifying executive presence will be the focus for this module. In addition, the module addresses complex dynamics that have shaped Black professionals over time and will assist learners with developing knowledge and skills regarding racial disparities to improve interactions among staff, learners, and leadership while also promoting retention of staff. Attendees will explore what it means to be “excellent” and the historical implications this term has on the mental, emotional, and physical well-being of diverse professionals.
