The goal of this program is to improve management of esophageal coins, nasal polyps, and odontogenic sinusitis and postoperative epistaxis. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Identify patients with an esophageal coin for whom esophageal bougienage is most likely to be successful.
2. Compare and contrast the effectiveness, safety, and cost of different methods for removal of esophageal coins.
3. Develop management strategies for patients with nasal polyps that recur after endoscopic sinus surgery.
4. Select patients with nasal polyps who are most likely to respond to biologic therapy.
5. Summarize recent findings on the endotypes of odontogenic sinusitis and use of tranexamic acid for postoperative epistaxis.
