Providers, congress, the media and other stakeholders continue to highlight the need to support Veterans with military exposure concerns. This inaugural 30-minute knowledge-based, interview-style Military Exposures Clinical Briefs Series converses with specific occupational groups to offer providers some quick, hands-on skills as a complement to the more detailed learning found in our War Related Injury and Illness Study Center (WRIISC)-HOME webinar series.
Dr. Lisa McAndrew, Research Director and Acting Director of Education at the War Related Illness and Injury Study Center (WRIISC) at the VA NJHCS, joins Dr. Nicole Sullivan, Clinical Psychologist, to discuss how clinicians can talk to Veterans about their exposure concerns, including the basics of risk communication and suggestions for how to respond to traditionally difficult to answer questions. This training is appropriate for interprofessional healthcare teams.
