Otologic practice is a complicated subspecialty with shifting treatment paradigms. The evolution of evidence-based medicine allows the application of rigorous principles of proof to commonly accepted therapies for routine otologic diagnoses. This course will evaluate available treatment options for diverse, but common otologic problems such as sudden hearing loss, Meniere’s disease, and Bell’s palsy. Treatment options will be analyzed for “best evidence” in their use. Recommendations will be made on treatment courses that encompass the most compelling evidence. Otolaryngologists attending this course will then be able to confidently apply therapies that are proven as beneficial to their patients.
