Physician wellness is a very important topic that is often overlooked in today’s modern and highly demanding practice. Today’s physician burnout statistics are alarming (over 50% in most studies, which have negative impact on the individual, the patients and the institution). This course will emphasize individual and institutional strategies to address physician well being, which reflect on the individual’s performance, family life-work life balance and performance as an individual professional patients’ well being and institutional success. Studies from various institutions including the Mayo Clinic will be shared including strategies to study and implement steps that would ensure avoidance of burnout and the best ways to continuously monitor and improve the conditions for the healthcare workforce.
