Urinary tract infections (UTIs) are one of the most commonly treated infections by healthcare professionals. In the U.S., UTIs account for the fifth most common type of healthcare-associated infection (Center for Disease [CDC], 2022). This course will discuss a brief review of the diagnosis of UTIs and a detailed review of available oral antimicrobials and treatment strategies for multidrug-resistant (MDR) UTIs.
The goal of this course is to educate advanced practice nurses, physicians, and pharmacy professionals in all types of healthcare settings on MDR UTIs.
