The goal of this program is to improve the management of upper gastrointestinal (GI) bleeding and strictures in patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), surveillance for dysplasia in patients with IBD, and the use of virtual reality applications for pain in patients with IBD and irritable bowel syndrome. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Apply updated guidelines to the active management of upper GI bleeding.
2. Recommend the utilization of novel devices for managing upper GI bleeding.
3. Select appropriate management techniques for patients with Crohn disease who have luminal strictures.
4. Implement updated recommendations for colorectal cancer surveillance in patients with IBD.
5. Incorporate applications of virtual reality in GI pain management strategies.
