HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE 29TH ANNUAL INTERNAL MEDICINE REVIEW

The goal of this program is to improve management of patients with elevated ferritin and withdrawal from benzodiazepines. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinicians will be able to:
1. Provide appropriate treatment for elevated ferritin level based on the cause.
2. Interpret genetic tests of patients with elevated ferritin levels.
3. Select appropriate treatments for patients with genetic hemochromatosis.
4. Prevent harmful drug interactions in patients taking benzodiazepines.
5. Use adjunctive medications to ensure safe withdrawal from benzodiazepines.
