The goal of this program is to improve advance care planning (ACP), the response to patients requesting aid-in-dying, and pediatric advanced life support. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Differentiate ACP from advance directives.
2. Explain implementation of the Physician Orders for Life-sustaining Treatment form in ACP.
3. Optimize the response to patient requests for medical aid-in-dying.
4. Explain challenges faced by physicians who personally support or oppose medical aid-in-dying.
5. Contrast use of cuffed vs uncuffed endotracheal tubes in pediatric advanced life support.
