Simple Ovarian Cysts

Simple Ovarian Cysts

Simple ovarian cysts are common, particularly in premenopausal women, and are typically benign. Transvaginal sonography is the gold standard for their assessment. These cysts usually resolve on their own and do not require follow-up unless symptomatic or larger than 7 cm. In postmenopausal women, cysts larger than 5 cm may require monitoring. The SRU guidelines provide clarity on reporting and follow-up protocols to avoid unnecessary interventions.
