The goal of this program is to improve the use of anticoagulation in patients at risk for deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE), and the diagnosis and management of obstructive sleep apnea. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Stratify patients with high, intermediate, and low risk for DVT and PE.
2. Optimize anticoagulation therapy.
3. Select appropriate anticoagulants for prophylaxis and treatment of DVT.
4. Decide whether anticoagulation for management of DVT and PE is appropriate in patients with current or history of metastatic cancer.
5. Recommend appropriate management strategies for snoring and obstructive sleep apnea.
