Women Veterans and Active Duty Service women have unique mental health needs including differences in the prevalence and expression of mental health disorders, treatment responses, as well as the influence of social and cultural factors. While VHA and DoD mental health clinicians are current on general mental health care issues, this training will assist staff in staying current with the distinct needs of women, which will allow for appropriate care, optimal treatment programming, and help to eliminate disparities for this patient population.
This recorded, knowledge-based virtual training for healthcare teams will provide an overview of factors to consider when providing mental health services to women Veterans and Service Members. As this training is intended for health care teams, it will focus on evidence-based, clinically relevant content intended for multidisciplinary mental health clinicians.
