The goal of this program is to improve delivery of medical nutrition therapy and management of dysphagia in patients with cognitive and neurologic impairments. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to: 1. Illustrate the nutrition care process. 2. Collaborate with a registered dietitian nutritionist to improve care for patients with chronic diseases. 3. Educate patients regarding influences of cognitive impairment on swallowing. 4. Apply best practice guidelines for patients with various levels of cognitive impairment. 5. Incorporate sensory enhancement therapy for patients with dysphagia.
