The Hematology Oncology Updates for Medical Professionals Conference is a multidisciplinary collaboration between specialties to discuss complex oncologic research, genetic testing, and treatment protocols to assist in developing recommendations for current and future patient. The purpose of this program is to share knowledge and encourage collaborations within UW Health. Topics include benign hematology disorders, key indicators for hematologist referral, advances in bleeding and clotting disorders, managing antithrombotic and antiplatelet therapy perioperatively, managing hematological disorders during pregnancy, impact of alcohol, tobacco, and substance abuse on hematological health, navigating cancer screening protocols and guidelines, advances in breast cancer care, malignant hematology, emerging cancer therapies, cancer genetic testing, palliative care, and survivorship. The program is available to professionals in northern Illinois and Wisconsin in-person or via live streaming through WebEx.
