On-Demand | Prolactinemia and Prolactinoma Work-up and Management

This webinar covers the physiology of prolactin and the evaluation of hyperprolactinemia, focusing on the management strategies for prolactinoma. Participants will learn about the recent WHO classification of pituitary adenomas as pituitary neuroendocrine tumors (PitNETs) and the subtypes of prolactinoma. The primary treatment for prolactinoma has been dopamine agonists such as Bromocriptine and Cabergoline, which can effectively normalize prolactin levels and reduce tumor size. However, surgical intervention is recommended for certain cases, especially for microprolactinomas in young women and rapidly progressing tumors. The course will also address the unique challenges of managing prolactinoma during pregnancy and highlight the rarity of malignant prolactinoma, along with emerging therapies. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of management based on the latest literature and guidelines.
