The Complex Case Discussion Series, led by Hospice & Palliative Medicine Fellows, provides an in-depth forum for discussing challenging cases encountered during the University Hospital Adult Palliative Care Rotation. Each session focuses on a real-life case, emphasizing the complexities of symptom management, communication, and ethical decision-making that fellows navigate in palliative care. Through structured case presentations, open discussion, and insights from attending faculty/interdisciplinary team members, the series fosters collaborative learning and reflective practice, enhancing fellows’ skills in handling difficult clinical situations with empathy and clinical acumen. This series aims to deepen fellows understanding of comprehensive, compassionate care for seriously ill patients in a hospital setting.
