The goal of this program is to improve usage of emergency medical services (EMS) in meeting population health goals, and management of malaria. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to: 1. Use behavioral health diversion programs to reduce the call burden of emergency medical services. 2. Integrate the concept of population health into emergency medical services. 3. Advise travelers on chemoprophylaxis for malaria. 4. Select drugs for treatment of malaria. 5. Use diagnostic testing for identification of Plasmodium species which cause malaria.
