The goal of this program is to improve assessment of competence to stand trial and performance of fitness-for-duty evaluations. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to: 1. Define the legal standard for competence to stand trial. 2. Explain the key components of an assessment for compe tence to stand trial. 3. Consider potential ethical issues when assessing compe tence to stand trial. 4. Identify the various types of fitness-for-duty evaluations. 5. Perform violence risk assessment as part of fitness-for duty evaluations.
