The Down Syndrome Medical Interest Group-USA (DSMIG-USA ) Speaker Series consists of webinars and enduring materials designed to share knowledge and experience related to the care of children and adults with Down syndrome, and clinical research related to Down syndrome. As a result of participation in this educational activity, members of the healthcare team will be able to: Identify at least one preventative strategy to increase the likelihood that a patient with Down syndrome will be able to successfully tolerate a medical intervention or assessment Describe exposure-based interventions to address anxiety and how exposure-based paradigms can be used to help patients tolerate their medical care Explain the risks associated with using holds or restraints in the delivery of medical care
