The objective is to meet the need of health care professionals for unbiased, reliable and timely information on new and older drugs, including the mechanisms of action, pharmacokinetics, clinical trials, adverse effects, interactions, dosages and routes of administration of the drugs discussed. The objectives will also meet the needs for unbiased, reliable and timely information on treatment of major diseases. Through this program, The Medical Letter expects to provide the prescribing health care community with educational content that they can use to make independent and informed therapeutic choices in their practice. Activity participants will read and assimilate unbiased reviews of FDA-approved and off-label uses of drugs and drug classes. Participants will be able to select and prescribe, or confirm the appropriateness of the prescribed usage of the drugs and other therapeutic modalities discussed, with specific attention to clinical evidence of effectiveness, adverse effects and patient management.
