The symposium is to provide information on common and emerging clinical scenarios so that health care providers are then able to identify rheumatic diseases like lupus nephritis, gout, and osteoporosis, and familiarize primary care providers with available treatment options and understand the social determinants that can affect treating rheumatic diseases like RA. With competence, health care providers will then be able to refer patients for specialty care in a timely fashion and become knowledgeable in their management so as to provide ancillary care.
