Faculty development is structed programming developed for the prupose of enhancing transference of knowledge, skill, and behavior from the educator to the learner. GME faculty development may occur in a variety of configurations (lecture, workshp, etc). The ACGME requires that we educate the GME faculty at least annually in the topics below and in other pertinent topics related to their position as educator and role model for the residents & fellows. (1) as educators, (2) in QI/PS, (3) in fostering their own and their residents/ well-being; and (4) in patient care based on their practice-based learning and improvement efforts.
