AAMC Leading for Impact

AAMC Leading for Impact

Effective organizational leaders cannot solely rely on existing knowledge and experience to guide their approach to leadership, as they must also be quite intentional and open to expanding their repertoire of skills, behaviors, and capabilities to guide the success of others in advancing organizational goals and priorities. Embracing a growth mindset in the leadership role is essential. Yet, with limitations on time and resources, many people often find themselves being thrust into complex situations without adequate preparation or information to support sustainable and effective solutions. The new Leading for Impact program provides an opportunity for individuals to develop actionable strategies that address their unique leadership challenges related to organizational culture, change, and strategic implementation. By bringing together people from across the academic medicine and science community, this highly engaging and informative 2.5-day learning experience offers peer coaching and knowledge sharing complemented by the business insights and expertise of the facilitators. The program will equip participants with frameworks and tools for shaping an effective, and thriving, work environment that achieves outcomes and aligns work with vision and purpose a key measure of leadership success.
