The goal of this program is to improve the safety of abortion care after Dobbs decision and perinatal outcomes through appropriate monitoring and treatment of hyperglycemia during pregnancy and postpartum. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to: 1. Analyze the impact of Dobbs decision on access, availability, and utilization of abortion services. 2. Compare the benefits and risks of medical and procedural abortions. 3. Identify patients in whom mifepristone is indicated or contraindicated. 4. Screen pregnant women for prediabetes, gestational diabetes, and type 2 diabetes mellitus. 5. Assess the potential benefits of treating women who are diagnosed with prediabetes during pregnancy.
