Academic Detailing on Alcohol Use Disorder

There is often a gap between the evidence and clinical practice. Current attempts to change clinical behaviors rely mostly on educational efforts but have yet to show consistent results of change. Academic Detailers in the field requested educational materials on the topic of Academic Detailing on Alcohol Use Disorder. By using the techniques identified in this presentation, providers will be able to identify the barriers and objections in the field and tailor the resources and training to meet the needs of providers in the field. This will better inform implementation strategies and therefore potentially lead to more effective implementation of evidence-based practice. Users will gain knowledge and ability to understand the importance of identifying barriers and objections, as well as an increased awareness on the topic of Alcohol Use Disorder, including screening, diagnosis, and treatment in adherence to current clinical recommendations. The purpose of this educational module is to help educate clinicians on the identification and treatment of stimulant use disorder in veterans. The expected outcome is to improve and deliver appropriate medical treatment to adhere to current clinical recommendations on Stimulant Use Disorder. The training is practice-based.
