The goal of this program is to improve the diagnosis and man-agement of primary immunodeficiencies (PIs) and management of common ear, nose, and throat conditions in children according to guidelines from to the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinicians will be able to: 1. Formulate a differential diagnosis for a child with a sus-pected PI. 2. Use findings on physical examination and results of labora-tory studies to distinguish among different PIs. 3. Recommend appropriate treatment for children diagnosed with a PI. 4. Adhere to clinical practice guidelines from the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (AAO-HNS) guidelines on tympanostomy and tonsillectomy. 5. Appropriately address postoperative pain in children who have undergone tonsillectomy.
