ACUTE RESPIRATORY DISTRESS SYNDROME/AMPUTATIONS/MELANOMA OF HE HEAD AND NECK

NOTE: This activity is available only as part of a paid subscription series; it is not available for purchase as a single, stand-alone activity.

The goal of this program is to improve management of patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), reduce rates of nontraumatic amputation, and improve management of patients with melanoma in the head and neck region. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Categorize patients with ARDS according to the Berlin criteria.
2. Relate low tidal volume and low positive end-expiratory pressure to superior outcomes in patients with ARDS.
3. Select a mode of ventilation for patients with ARDS.
4. Increase patient awareness of peripheral artery disease.
5. Use appropriate imaging modalities to assess melanoma in the head and neck region.
