This recorded webinar aired on September 26, 2023 and features the topic “Anterior shoulder instability. Cutting edge techniques in the quest for stability. Traumatic anterior glenohumeral dislocation is one of the most common shoulder injuries among athletes. Treatment options are still sometimes controversial when it comes to indications for surgery, timing of surgery, and choice of procedure, and recommendations vary from one geographic region to another. We have gathered an international faculty including Clara Azevedo (Portugal) and Ivan Wong (Canada) representing AJSM and Emmanouil Brilakis (Greece) and Knut Beitzel (Germany) representing ESSKA. The aim of the webinar is to discuss the recent developments in surgical techniques. Should we include new soft tissue and bony surgical procedures in our repertoire? Or are the traditional techniques, such as Bankart repair and Latarjet safer to achieve the best possible results for our patients. Join our faculty of experts from AJSM and ESSKA in their case-based discussion and learn from their answers to these important questions.
