Alcoholic Liver Disease/Renal Dysfunction in Cirrhosis

The goal of this program is to improve management of alcohol use disorder (AUD) with medication, and management of renal dysfunction in patients with cirrhosis. After hearing and assimi lating this program, the clinician will be better able to: 1. Choose a screening tool to detect alcohol consumption. 2. Select an appropriate medication for patients with AUD. 3. Identify patients with tubular injury in patients with renal impairment with urinary biomarkers. 4. Apply an assessment model for liver disease that accounts for sex disparities in allocation of organs for transplantation. 5. Relate likelihood of response to terlipressin and albumin in patients with hepatorenal syndrome-acute kidney injury to serum creatinine.
