In this course common causes of anosmia and smell disorders will be presented with a review of new research on the topic pertaining to smell loss in the post COVID-19 era. A practical guide for helping patients in the general otolaryngologist’s office will be discussed. Smell tests, and practical recommendations for patients will be reviewed.
With the explosion of smell loss post COVID-19, keeping up with the literature is a daunting task. I will provide a review of the literature so that anyone attending the course will be able to learn about the current needs of a smell disorder patient without having to read the primary sources in the literature.
